According to ancient alien theory, all of the mythological and religious stories were the result of extraterrestrial intervention. Following this theory, you could substitute any ancient god with an alien. So could Hades really have been an alien? Why not? Bearing some similarity to alien abductees and sexual experiments, Persephone, goddess of spring, is taken and raped by Hades, god of death and the underworld. The Greeks used Persephone’s story to explain the bitterness of winter and changing of the seasons. To me, the myth of Persephone and Hades is about the ultimate bad relationship, where no one gets the love they want and settles for a unfulfilling compromise. Life can sometimes be an unfulfilling compromise so perhaps believing in alien creators and a possible alien return might make life more meaningful. The Greeks were probably explaining their world by personifying nature, but who knows? Maybe it was ancient aliens.
